Following his stunning turn on the Rhodes at our recent Herbie Hancock tribute event at Floripa a couple of weeks ago, we’re pretty happy to report that pianist Tom O’Grady has recently uploaded footage of the ENTIRE gig on to his Youtube channel. Filmed by Julian Fontenell, it features Tom and his band ploughing effortlessly through a number of Hancock’s more funk and fusion orientated tracks of the 1970’s including classics like ‘Butterfly’, ‘Actual Proof’ and yes, ‘Chameleon’. It was pretty special on the night and now, by the wonders of post produced video, you can enjoy the thing again, even if you weren’t there! If you want to hear more from Tom, look up his work with Myles Sanko and The Beauty Room and go check out his own project Resolution 88 on Facebook. We hear there’s already an album in the works, and a Jazz re:freshed gig pencilled in for Thursday 13th June.
