Domingo Cineclub
Every Sunday throughout autumn and winter, The Jazz Meet, in association with Floripa, will be showcasing a selection of films and documentaries as part of the bar’s Domingo Cineclub session. The films will predominantly centre around jazz and music-related content with biopics, documentaries and feature films all scheduled to be screened from 3.30pm. Following each film at around 5pm, the Jazz Meet resident DJs take the reins to dig into their record boxes to play a jazz set often tailored to the film’s theme, and then at 7pm the Jazz Meet house band (or guest band) step up to the stage for their usual weekly live performance of energetic live soul jazz. Throughout the day, Floripa’s famous cocktail list and classic roasts with that special Brazilian twist will be available to order from 1pm for anyone wishing to indulge. We kicked off the 2012/13 film season on October 14th with a screening of the  Spanish animated feature-length classic ‘Chico and Rita’ and we’ve got plenty more to come.
FREE ENTRY ALL DAY
If you’d like us to consider adding a particular film to the schedule, please get in touch and assuming we can find it, we will be happy to oblige.
