The Live Event
The Jazz Meet is a weekly live jazz event that, in its previous incarnations, has been a mainstay of the London jazz scene for several years now. Held down by a core of talented musicians and featuring an ever-increasing pool of session players, vocalists, DJs and special guests who can be called upon to add that extra bit of personal spice to each occasion, the night, has over the years, graced many of London’s finest venues, including Proud Camden, Vibe Bar, Favela London, The Shoreditch and now can be found plying its trade at Floripa in Shoreditch every Sunday 5pm-12am.
Celebrating the true diversity of the jazz scene, The Jazz Meet’s aim is simple – to help keep the spirit of live jazz and its many sub-genres alive within the capital. With regular outings where collaboration, improvisation, rediscovery and most importantly a good groove are key, you can expect to hear a range of sounds from the past and present, whether it be during one of the many weekly live sessions, or during the intervals when resident DJs and guests step up to grace the turntables with their most recently unearthed vinyl gems. As well as the house band, we regularly feature some of London’s established and up and coming jazz ensembles in the bimonthly guest spot.
