Now here’s a little something something for this week’s podcast. Recorded live at last Sunday’s Jazz Meet at The Shoreditch, here’s a quick 45 minute flavour from Mukatsuku Records boss and Jazz Meet resident Nik Weston. Kicking off with the classic ‘Music Is My Sanctuary’ by Gary Bartz (A Blue Note and Mizell Bros. staple), Nik dips into the bag to pull out some especially funky and jazzy tracks aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Michael White, Roy Ayers, The Jazz Crusaders and Overton Berry Ensemble in the mix? Yep we’ll have some of that. And we haven’t even mentioned the massive Kisa Magnusson moment. Need that. Big band vocal business.
Check it out and don’t forget to drop by Nik’s MUKATSUKU page to say hello.
