And we continue… It’s another Live at The Jazz Meet mix, this week from Mr Des Morgan of Yam Who? fame, who we welcomed onto The Shoreditch decks a little over a week ago and he blessed us with some seriously nice selections. Here we serve up the second of two sets for your listening perusal. Any mix that starts with Kimiko Kasai’s “Sunlight” and contains at least one Chaka Khan song has us sold at the off, but dig a little deeper and there’s more goodness to be had. For instance, when was the last time you heard Paul Jackson’s “Eight Ways of Love Part 2”? Or Quarteto em Cy’s “Salve O Verde”? Not to mention a 15 minute Latin section we had trouble id-ing all the tracks for (Full tracklist now below). The Crusaders, The Detroit Experiment, The Backroom Bandits, and Kenny Dorham all make unlikely but extremely adept bedfellows as we round things off and there’s even a rare Latin Percussion Jazz Ensemble version of “My Favourite Things” late on for all you diggers. Thanks for listening.
