After a little break we drop #40 in the mixtape series. Stepping up to the plate this week we have Jazz Meet resident Rob Coley (Soul-Identity Music) who compiles some of his favourite tracks of the moment. Lots of modern British jazz from the amazing Robert Mitchell 3io, Examples Of Twelves, Max Grunhard Quintet and a beautifully sweeping Zara McFarlane track, available now on her new Brownswood Recordings début “Until Tomorrow”. Elsewhere there’s jazz from Slovakia in the form of AsGuests sublime “Sunset Boulevard”, a brand new unearthed track from Jef Gilson on Jazzman Records with a spiritual lean and a jazzy remake of the Slum Village classic “Fall In Love” with plenty of bottom end by US trio BADBADNOTGOOD (Download here: http://badbadnotgood.bandcamp.com). Finally we round things off with an amazing downtempo and soulful Pharoahs track from their second album “In The Basement”. Full tracklist and stream below. We hope you enjoy the music.
