We hit mix #60 in our series and this week it’s resident Rob Coley on the buttons bringing you just under an hour’s worth of downtempo jazzy goodness. First up is a brand new collab between Nostalgia 77 Quintet and Bristolian b-boy DJ Format, and things continue on a mellow middle-Eastern vibe with fresh music from Parisian Ethio-jazz outfit Akalé Wubé. A touch of spiritual jazz (recently re-issued on Jazzman Records) from Azanyah follows before we hit the contemporary stylings of Zoe Rahman and Johnathan Blake. We then dig into two beautiful pieces of music, first from Jerker Kluge’s Deep Jazz LP ‘The Meeting’ and second, our very own Jessica Lauren and her new acoustic quartet project ‘Jessica Lauren Four’. Tracks from Lund Quartet, Robert Glasper Experiment and The Odd Trio round off the mix before April’s Jazz Meet guests, The Al Scott Trio bring it to a close with the delicate ‘Time Remembered’. We hope you enjoy the mix and as ever thank you for your continued support!
