This week, we’re very happy to present our first mixtape from the Antipodes! This 45 minute selection comes from Blair Stafford, a stalwart of the music scene in Australia, who runs the Straightup Internet radio station and touring and promotions agency. Although maybe familiar to many from his radio broadcasts and live shows, his real passion lies in the realms of jazz and Latin music, and here he pulls together a storming mix of some of his current and all time favourite tracks. Old masters Rashaan Roland Kirk, Eddie Russ and Jon Hendricks rub shoulders with contemporary artists Hajime Yoshizawa, Gregory Porter and J.A.M. and there’s relative obscurities from the Morris Wilson Beau Bailey Quintet, Bhakti Jazz and The Col Nolan Soul Syndicate. A nice midweek listen if we do say so ourselves. Press play and let us know what you think!
