A little late this week, but please let us present number 89 in our Jazz Meet mixtape series. This week, we dig in the archives to rediscover this beautiful jazz mix from long time friend of The Jazz Meet and Here And Now Recordings record boss, Mr John Cunningham AKA JC. From his time behind the counter at some of London’s finest record emporiums, JC has constantly been on the search for those rare tunes you just need to own on black wax. Here he selects a brilliant collection of tracks from the Strata East, Impulse, Muse and Blue Note stables as well as picking a few tracks from the Polish Muza record label, kicking things off with the deliciously drawn out Latinesque opener, ‘Spanish Dancer’ from The Brass Company. There’s plenty of other heavy hitters on the tracklist, so delve in and give it a listen, and keep a look out for what promises to be one of the jazz releases of the year with JC’s next release from The Ambient Jazz Ensemble later in the year!
