It’s been a long time coming and a most certainly a long and winding road, but we are pleased to finally announce the return of Caractacus the Conga Conqueror and the Afro Latin Ensemble of London to the hallowed walls of what used to be Favela London (and is due to be renovated and relaunched this coming Thursday as FLORIPA). Yes, this much celebrated group of some of London’s finest session players and band leaders will be playing an exclusive set at the official launch of the new venue on Thursday 24th August. It would be our pleasure if you could join us for this very special occasion.
We have a limited guest list for the event, so if you’d like to come, mingle and see one of London’s newest Latin collective’s perform on stage, hit us up via email at caractacus@thejazzmeet.com and we’ll stick you on the list on a first come first served basis.  This is going to be a truly HEAVYWEIGHT show and a true indication of how far they’ve come since the band’s inception earlier in the year at one of our Sunday afternoon Jazz Meet sessions.
For those yet not familiar with the band, here’s a video of the band in action at our last gig back in August.
And from the same session, a audio snippet of ‘Tumbao”
