We’re back after a little break, with a short, sharp, sizzling mix of rare jazz business from Jazz Meet resident Jarred Rice. Kicking off with the classic ‘Dream Weaver’ from The Charles Lloyd Quartet, Jarred digs out two Italian jazz nuggets from Eraldo Volonté and the Guido Manusardi Trio, before hitting us up with a Jazz Meet favourite and the utterly outstanding ‘Dead Sea Scrolls’ from Raphael, recorded in Brussels in 1972. Rounding things off we have a live outing from another American jazz pianist, Junior Mance and a scintillating performance of ‘Jumpin’ The Blues’ taken from his “Live at Sweet Basil” on the Japanese ‘Flying Disk’ imprint. Jarred will be lining up this coming Sunday alongside Andrew Sidford and The Jazz Meet Band at The Shoreditch, London E1 for another all day live jazz and DJ session. Free entry and delectable cocktails to round off your weekend in style.
