Better late than never, here lies the second part of our 2010 roundup. Focused around another batch of favourite tracks from last year, you’ll find contemporary, traditional, modern (and in some cases quite stunning) jazz gems for your listening pleasure. We ease in with the triple threat of Dave Douglas, Emanative and Phronesis before upping the tempo with two compositions from British quartet Killer Shrimp and pianist Carl Winther. A live performance from Brazilian legend Arthur Verocai, recorded as part of the 2009 Timeless Concert Series and released on wax by Mochilla in 2010, kicks off the second half of the mix before Robert Aaron, Gideon van Gelder and finally Richard Spaven bring forth their own unique brands of jazz and leave us looking to what lies ahead in 2011. Thanks for listening.
