I don’t think it’s necessary to travel, but at the same time, I ï¬nd it important to take risks. And throwing yourself in a foreign culture presents challenges, but opens all sorts of new opportunities. For me, I was too comfortable in Chicago, and needed to put myself on edge, navigate new pathways.
We spoke to jazz vocalist and pianist Sean Haefeli ahead of his gig with us at Floripa this Sunday. Read what he had to say…

As a little predecessor to this Sunday’s Jazz Meet at Floripa, our guest selector for the day, DJ and producer Kay Suzuki dropped in this little taster of a mix to get us in the mood. A 30 minute selection of some of Kay’s current faves on a jazzy tip, it runs the gamut from the Brazilian and percussive rhythms of Paulinho da Costa and Zaka Percussion right through to the classic soul and funk of Fred Wesley and Don Blackman. It’s all neatly tied up by the appearance of two Balearic chuggers in the form of Wally Badarou and Herb Alpert. We hope you enjoy this little session and thanks for listening!
