We’ve been a fan of Xango’s Mixcloud for a while, so it seemed only right that we dropped him a line to see if he wanted to add to our burgeoning little series of guest mixes. And boy does he deliver! Here’s what the man had to say about this little selection of European treats…
“Being asked to do a jazzy mix for a British website, I decided to do a little selection focusing on continental Europe. I thought this might be a perfect opportunity to show my love for Eastern European jazz. Strictly original vinyl on this one and recorded in one take. Added some tasty rarities for the diggers around. Taking off with a wonderful modal piece from Romania, along the way you will also hear some scatting, Latin jazz, bossa, soulful fusion and even a slice of flamenco before ending up with one of the best disco-funk tunes ever made; a real banger from the Balkans… Hope you enjoy! Paz, Xango”
