We’re back and it’s time for Jazz Meet resident Jarred Rice to take you on a nationwide tour through the charity shops of the UK (or thrift stores to our American/Canadian cousins!). It’s not all about the rarest or most expensive finds as Jarred demonstrates with this funky 45 minute mix. Done on a shoestring budget of £6.50 (that’s roughly 50 pence a record!), Jarred delves deep into the racks, past the ill fitting shoes, and the standard fare of Lionel Ritchie and Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass Band LPs, to bring you 13 great finds on a jazz tip. We’ve got some Cleo Laine, James Last, Maynard Ferguson, Alan Moorhouse, Sergio Mendes and yes… even a little Disney with The Aristocats. And of course a charity shop mix, wouldn’t be a charity shop mix without some Burt Bacharach! With full respect to the charity shop diggers out there and of course the VG+ Messageboard. Enjoy and thanks for listening!
