So after March’s storming little session at The Shoreditch (check the videos section to see what went down), it’s time to give you a quick heads up that we’ll be doing it all again in April with another full day of live jazz and assisted vibes from the Jazz Meet collective.
Sunday April 3rd is the date, 2.00pm the time as the Jazz Meet band kick off another exquisite afternoon session just in time for Spring. Hosted by Jake Telford on Sax, and fronted by Jessica Lauren on Keys, Max O’Donnell on Guitar, Oliver Nelken on Brass, some of London’s finest session musicians will play two improvised sets during the afternoon, delving into the jazz archives to revive some of your favourite jazz classics amongst a whole host of music with that certain jazz, Latin and fusion flair.
On the decks, we welcome back Jarred Rice, who in the end didn’t quite make it to the December Meet due to weather concerns (Only in England!) but we know he’ll more than make up for it this time around with a deeply dug club jazz session after the live sets (Expect a little podcast primer to drop from him next Monday). Also playing records on the day will be Jazz Meet residents Rob Coley and Mukatsuku record boss Nik Weston.
Massive props also have to go out to Sid Ford this month not only for his superb guest mix from last month (that you can still check out here) but also for another amazing flyer (above if you hadn’t noticed!). Gotta admit the printed posters look lovely. Do we see a limited edition run of these things in the future? Hmmmm. Check out his Made in Earnest site for all his design talents.
