THE JAZZ MEET MOVES TO NEW VENUE FLORIPA
Every Sunday from SUNDAY 18TH MARCH 2012
5pm-Midnight – Live Jazz – Brazilian Roast – Jazz Meet DJs
FREE ENTRY – BRAZILIAN ROAST DINNER £14
After a successful year at The Shoreditch cocktail bar, The Jazz Meet collective is proud to be embarking on a new weekly live jazz residency at the recently renovated Brazilian influenced restaurant and club Floripa in Old Street, London.
Yes, starting March 18th, and twice a month thereafter, the Jazz Meet House Band (hosted by Jake Telford (OK-MA) on sax and Jessica Lauren (Freestyle Records) on keys and featuring a rotating cast of London’s brightest session musicians) will again be taking the stage to offer the centrepiece of the night’s live music segment and to supply their own unique brand of live soul jazz. Bimonthly, on alternate Sundays, the collective welcome some of London’s finest established and up and coming jazz acts on to the stage to highlight the burgeoning talent that exists on London’s underground live music scene.
Already lined up as our first guests in March are Jazzman Records’ newest signing The Greg Foat Group who will be dropping into The Jazz Meet on March 25th for a little live show, showcasing material from both their début LP ‘Dark Is The Sun’ and their forthcoming sophomore album due out later this year.
Guest DJs this month are Shiftless Shuffle’s Tony Hylton (Bamboozle/Out to Lunch) and one of Belgium’s finest jazz collectors/DJs Lander Lenaerts AKA Blast Kid The Jazz Kid (Check out a mix from him here)
