We’re finally back on the mixtape trail as we present tape #76 from Jazz Meet resident and Mukatsuku and Guynamukat Records boss Nik Weston. With just over 40 minutes of vinyl jazz classics alongside some perhaps lesser known favourites and versions, we’re sure there’s something here to float the boat of the casual jazz enthusiast or the more hardcore cratedigger. We kick things off with a gorgeous version of ‘Just A Lil Lovin’ from Valerie Etienne and the swinging sounds of Alice Babs before heading in the direction of a cheeky re-edit of ‘South American Getaway’ and the perennial favourite ‘Pretty Bird’ by Terea. A rare moment in the discography of Brooklyn producer Ticklah follows before more mellow vibes from Chess Cadet and Archie Whitewater with ‘Cross Country’ and Michael White’s spiritual classic ‘The Blessing Song’. Nik rounds things off with another soulful special with Sons and Daughters of Lite ‘Let The Sunshine In’ and some ‘Mysterious Vibes’ from Roy Ayers.
